SKY DESIGN AWARDS 2026 / EDITORIAL REWRITE EDITORIAL BRIEF La villa Hiro-o A beauty clinic adopts the calm, light atmosphere of a private resort in central Tokyo Editorial Overview

La villa Hiro-o is a beauty clinic that borrows the emotional pacing of a private resort. Old Kan Inc.'s 'Comfortable Soft Resort' concept responds to a basic reality of cosmetic medicine: before treatment begins, the interior has already influenced whether a patient feels exposed, reassured or cared for.

Arrival is designed as a decompression from central Tokyo. Airy boundaries, softened light and restrained finishes evoke the sensation of a gentle breeze, replacing the hard brightness and procedural cues associated with conventional clinics. The atmosphere reflects the doctor's warm manner while establishing the privacy and composure expected of a professional practice.

The resort reference is deliberately non-literal. There is no attempt to reproduce a destination; instead, a quiet sequence and light material presence give patients time to settle before consultation. Hospitality becomes operational, helping the clinic manage anticipation and emotional vulnerability.

Within a competitive wellness market, the project distinguishes the practice through care rather than spectacle. Its design proposition is simple but pertinent: clinical confidence can coexist with softness, and reassurance is a functional requirement.

PEGGY'S EDITOR'S NOTE

Medical interiors should never hide professional purpose behind lifestyle imagery. La villa Hiro-o largely avoids that trap by interpreting the resort as a quality of transition—calm arrival, privacy and attentive pacing—rather than decorative escapism.

The project's real measure is patient trust. Old Kan's soft atmosphere supports that trust when paired with clear clinical competence, making hospitality a form of emotional infrastructure rather than branding alone. Excerpt La villa Hiro-o replaces the conventional clinical mood with the lightness and reassurance of a private resort, making hospitality central to the patient experience.
